PM surprises the world with the instances of her all-inclusive development: Palak

The State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak took up his office in person at the Secretariat on Tuesday. He highlighted his emotional attachment with the telecom sector before the top officials. He, then said that, the day I got to know about the additional duties over telephone from the Cabinet Secretary, I was overjoyed with emotion. I was crying hugging my mother. Because I couldn't find the words to express this stream of joy.

Highlighting a poetry behind this emotion, the state minister said that his late father Faiz Uddin Ahmed passed HSC from Azizul Haque College, Bogura. While studying engineering at an institute in Rajshahi and got a job as a telephone exchange operator in 1957 and went to Dinajpur to join the work. He then worked as a telephone operator in Bogura and Santahar, Chuadang and Natore exchanges.

Quoting the Prime Minister's former ICT adviser: 'If telecommunication is a river, then ICT is a boat', the State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications said that through Sajib Wazed's talent and hard work, I got the courage to implement Digital Bangladesh in the last 15 years. So I am thankful to him. Thanks to those who are working for the development of this sector. Palak said that, be that water, land or space, there is no place where the development works made by the prime minister has not set an example. Palak said, "Now we consume 5000 Gbps bandwidths.

It is an unimaginable thing. It is a miracle. Bangladesh has become a magical instance of development before the world. Now the whole world follows Bangladesh. Zunaid Ahmed Palak was looking after the work of the post and telecommunication department from the constituency since getting the responsibility.

He assured to protect the confidence and honor of the Prime Minister in the execution of the routine work of the government in the remaining 34 days of the elections. He highlighted the role of telecom and ICT in establishing Smart Bangladesh. Referring to the names of 15 sectors determined by the Prime Minister, Palak said, 'After access to electricity, smart grids; after access to education- smart quality education is needed. Smart and reliable internet is now needed after the advent.

There are many such tasks ahead of us, which we have to do in the next 18 years. But the next 34 days are for doing our daily routine work. I would request you all to be cautious at this critical time. Because, if Post and Telecom is not running, then everything will be at risk.

Therefore, we will perform our duties with utmost honesty, transparency and devotion. So that our communications and services are not disrupted during the election period. No service of our state, government and people should be interrupted.' After listening to this directive, Post and Telecommunication Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman said that the Post and Telecommunication Division is determined to implement the directives of the State minister to ensure safe and uninterrupted postal and telecommunication services.

Earlier, the secretary of the Division of Posts and Telecommunications welcomed the state minister with flowers on behalf of the officials and employees.

BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikdar; Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Shahjahan Mahmud; BTCL Managing Director Md. Anwar Hossain; Teletalk Managing Director AKM Habibur Rahman; Directorate General of Telecommunication Md. Rafiqul Islam; Chairman of Mailing Operator and Courier Service Licensing Authority were present in the meeting. Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin; Director General of Postal Directorate Tarun Kanti Sikdar; Managing Director of Bangladesh Cable Industry Limited Jagadish Chandra Mandal and Managing Director of TSS Md. Ashraf Hossain along with top officials of Posts and Telecommunications Department and subordinate agencies were present.
